Education and Certification

 

Robyn is a Registered Psychotherapist with the CRPO (College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario) and a Canadian Certified Counsellor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. He obtained his Master of Arts degree in Counselling & Spirituality from Saint Paul University in 2013. During this time his training focused on individual counselling and his research was primarily around mental health issues within the LGBTQ community.  

 

 

Professional Experience

 

With over a decade of experience in the mental health profession, Robyn has demonstrated expertise in various areas. His career began as a behavioral therapist, focusing on supporting families and children diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum. He has since expanded his scope to include work with adolescents and families, addressing a wide range of concerns in both institutional and private settings.

During his graduate studies, Robyn gained valuable experience at the Saint Paul Counselling Centre and Carleton University, where he provided support to students and young adults dealing with ADD, learning disabilities, anxiety, depression, sexuality, and relationship issues.

Additionally, Robyn has dedicated several years to working in addiction treatment, both in residential and community-based settings, before transitioning these skills into his private practice.

As an educator, Robyn has taught at Algonquin College and currently serves as a supervisor at Saint Paul University Counselling Centre in the graduate-level program. Since joining Capital Psychological in 2018 under the mentorship of Dr. Diana Garcia, he has continued to refine his practice. Robyn integrates various therapeutic approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing, to provide comprehensive support tailored to the unique needs of each client.
